Message from the Artist: Why New York?
NYC is my favorite city on earth. It’s vibrant, alive and full of hustle. And I also have a personal connection. My parents, grandparents and great grandparents lived here. Growing up close to the city, some of my fondest memories come from times in New York. And so much of what defines contemporary art and culture converges here.
The city's population is incredibly diverse, shaped further by the daily influx of commuters and visitors from around the world. Not to mention, it has an excellent transportation system. Thousands of people move through these tunnels and platforms every day. That kind of foot traffic makes the odds of someone stopping, looking, and genuinely connecting with the work so much higher.
From the perspective of an installation artist, I couldn’t ask for a wider, more diverse audience. Thank you, New York.
